Since 1891, the Gold Standard of Rail Travel

GrandRail was founded by the Montague family in the autumn of 1891, when Sir Edmund Montague commissioned a private train to carry guests from London to the Scottish Highlands for the grouse season.

Over 130 years later, the same obsession with craftsmanship, discretion, and the art of unhurried travel defines every journey we curate. Our trains have carried royalty, artists, diplomats, and dreamers — all united by a desire to arrive having truly travelled.
